Sinner or Perfect?

I can bet no one in this world can say they are morally perfect. If you say you are then your lying. In the autobiography Benjamin Franklin tries to reach his goal. Moral perfection. Every week he tried to perfect one virtue, and he only moved on when he felt he perfected the one he was studying. Then he would start a new week working on the old and new virtues together. I believe that no one has the ability to reach this goal, but who am I to judge. I believe that the five virtues I need to work and are most important for me are:

Silence- speak not but what may benefit others or yourself; avoid trifling conversations.
This virtue means that you should think before you say something and that you should only speak important information or conversation.

Resolution- resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve.
This virtue means that if you say you are going to do something, you should do it. Always set goals and try to reach them, even though it might be difficult.

Frugality-make no expense but to do good to others or yourself; i.e., waste nothing.
This in my opinion is one of the most important virtues. You shouldn't take time or money for granted. Always be wise about your wasting.

Cleanliness- tolerate no uncleanliness in body, cloths, or habitation.
This is another very important virtue. This tries to teach someone to be clean in every way. Internally, externally and your habitat. Internally means you shouldn't drink or dirty your body, externally is you should shower and be clean. Your habitat, the place you stay should also be clean.

Tranquility- be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable.
This means that you should accept failure and accept the hard times that will come your way.

Even though nobody can reach moral perfection, you can try to reach close to it. This is not a easy task.If you want to be good and change some things in your life or behaviors, you should try to work on the other eight virtues.

Hey Greg, very nice post, i think the best virtue is frugality, you need to be a good person. I also agree with you that no one can say they are morally perfect, it is like mission impossible. (this is Harout Kelechian by the way, as i am still having technical difficulties)

Hi Gokor, great work! You chose very important virtues, in which everyone should follow. It is very important to be the best you are capable of being. Once again, good job! Keep it up.
