Raven
The Raven written by Edgar Allen Poe is a very dark, mysterious and Gothic poem. It takes place at midnight in a big mansion, dark castle type of house. This poem is Gothic poem because it fits in all four aspects. First the story needs to be seat in a bleak or remote place. The setting of the raven like I mentioned is during midnight in December in a big dark scary house. The plot has to involve macabre or violent incidents. The way we read the story we feel tension and spooked out. How he opens the door the first time and there is no one there and the second time there is a black raven. We find out that the person has lost his lover in some way but we feel that he lost her in a negative way. The third has to be with the character in psychological or physical torment. The man in the story is going through psychological torment because he thinks the raven is actually talking to him and repeating the word "nevermore" over and over again which is driving the man crazy. The last has to be a supernatural or other worldly element that is present. The raven is the supernatural being because it is actually talking back to the man. I get a feeling that it is not a good supernatural being something like the devil. This poem is very dark and scary it fits perfectly in Gothic poetry.

Good Job Gokor! Your blog was very interesting. I liked how you gave an example of every aspect. I wonder whose notes you copied? Never mind, she is not important at the moment. Good job!
Wow, good job Gokor! Amazing blog. I like all the examples you gave from the poem and the way you described all the aspects. I really have to agree with Gareen on this one even though I do not do that much. Again, very nice blog post!
First things first, thank you for sharing this awesome post with me and my classmates . You described every part of the poem in a very thorough manner which gives a reader such as myself the feel that they are actually there. Once again thank you for providing us with a well written blog post.
